Programming
Write the gym's programming in your own words, check how CrossAdapt reads it, and publish it to members' phones, watches and the board.
Tracks
A track is one stream of programming: your main class programming, a competitors' track, an endurance track. Members follow tracks, and each class type follows one, which is what the class board shows.
- On the web, open your gym, then Programming, then Tracks.
- Tap New track. Give it a name, a short name and a colour, and a description members will read.
- Under Who may follow, choose The gym's members or Anyone on CrossAdapt.
- Tick New members follow this track automatically for your main track, so every new member has it from day one.
A track can be edited, archived (and restored) or deleted from the same list. Owners, admins and coaches edit programming; the front desk can read it.
The week
Programming opens on This week for a track, a column per day. Use the arrows to move between weeks and + to add a piece to a day. Each day has a pill that says where it stands:
- Published
- Members have it.
- Scheduled
- It goes out at the gym's publishing time.
- Unpublished
- Held back with Unpublish until someone publishes it again.
- Draft
- Written but not out yet.
- Empty
- Nothing on it.
Select a day to open its panel: a Day title, Notes to members for the day, its pieces with Add a piece, and Save day. Reorder pieces by dragging one onto another, or with Move up and Move down.
Writing a piece
Write the workout the way you'd write it on the whiteboard. Your text is what members see on their phones, on the watch and on the TV, word for word.
- Title, kind, section
- What it's called, what kind of piece it is (Strength, Conditioning, Skill…) and where it sits in the class.
- Workout · athletes see exactly this
- The workout itself.
- What athletes log
- The score you want back: load, time, rounds and reps, reps, calories, distance or done; how many entries; and how they combine. Mark a lift so its sets update members' maxes; on a piece with a structure, tick the movements under Records that the loads go to (a movement with a weight or an RPE starts ticked). A line underneath shows exactly what members will be asked.
- Clock on the watch and TV
- For time with a cap, AMRAP, every X for Y, or work and rest. If you leave it, the clock follows the structure CrossAdapt reads (below).
- Coach notes
- Cues, setup and scaling. Members see these under the workout.
Save the piece, then the day. Save as template keeps a piece to reuse.
How CrossAdapt reads it
Tap Process under the workout and CrossAdapt reads your text and suggests its structure: the method, rounds, movements, reps and loads. A piece saved without processing is read after the save. The structure is what lets the watch step through movements, count rounds and work out each member's loads from their maxes, and what lets the class board and the analysis understand the piece. It never changes what members read.
Each piece carries a tag:
- Suggested
- CrossAdapt has read it; nobody has checked it yet.
- Confirmed
- A coach checked it.
- Text only
- No structure. The piece still shows, logs the score you asked for and runs its clock.
Check a suggestion and tap Looks right, or Fix to correct it in the structure editor, or Remove it, then save the piece once. Build the structure starts one by hand. While it's processing you'll see “Processing…”. If your gym has used its processing for the month, a piece waits for the overnight run instead.
Confirm the structure on anything with percentages, rounds on a clock (“every 3:00”), or a score you want ranked properly. A minute's check means every member's watch and log get it right.
Publishing
Your gym has one rule for when programming reaches members, set by an owner or admin in Settings › Publishing programming:
- As soon as it's saved, or
- At a set time: a number of days before, at a time of day in the gym's time zone. For example, the day before at 6 pm.
The week view shows the rule (“Days go out the day before at 18:00, the gym's rule”). On a day:
- Publish now
- Send it before its time.
- Unpublish
- Take it back from members and hold it until someone publishes it again.
- Publish changes
- On an older day with edits still waiting.
Once a day is out, any edit reaches members as soon as you save it. A member who'd made their own version of a piece you changed is told, and chooses whether to keep theirs.
Copying and templates
- A day: in the day panel, Copy pieces from another day, then Copy onto this day.
- A week: Copy last week into this one.
- A piece: Save as template, then add it from Programming › Templates on any day.
Analyze week
With nothing selected, the side panel offers Analyze week: a check of the week's programming before members see it.
- Potential concerns: things worth a second look, such as a movement repeated through the week or heavy days back to back.
- Modality × time: weightlifting, gymnastics and monostructural work across short, medium and long time domains, so gaps stand out.
- Movements: every family of movement the week touches, with the days, against the weeks before.
On the phone
Profile › My gym › Programming shows your gym's tracks. Owners, admins and coaches can Add a piece and edit pieces in the same editor athletes use, with the structure tools. You can also follow a track to train it yourself, make it primary, or unfollow it, and run Analyze week. Publishing and unpublishing are on the web.
